• The list does not prohibit calls from political organizations, charities, telephone surveyors or debt collectors. Also, companies with which you have a business relationship can still call you even if your number is on the list, unless you tell them not to.
• If you think a call is violating the Do Not Call rules, keep track of the time the call occurred, the number called and the party making the call. You can file a complaint at complaints.donotcall.gov .
Children's Festival
Q: Who sponsored the Children's Festival at Monroe Park during the week of July 25? We received a flyer, but it didn't have the name of the sponsor.
A: The event, which ran July 24-27, was sponsored by Hanford Community Church, with participation by a number of other local churches, a spokeswoman for the Mason City Parks and Recreation Department said. The festival was an attempt to reach out to children and their families on the north end of Mason City with a variety of children's activities.
