Bristol wrap-up: Hamlin earns seventh-place finish

All three Joe Gibbs Racing teams earned top 15 finishes at the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile,” Bristol Motor Speedway, on Saturday night, but it wasn’t an easy ride.

Denny Hamlin salvaged a seventh-place finish from the IRWIN Tools Night Race, starting 20th in the #11 FedEx Express Toyota Camry. Shortly after the half-way point of the race, Hamlin, just outside the top 10 at the time, and Paul Menard made contact, sending both cars spinning; Hamlin kept it off the wall, but would need repairs to the right rear of the car – the FedEx pit crew made the repairs while keeping Hamlin on the lead lap. Hamlin worked his way up from 14th following the restart from his accident to his seventh-place finish.

Joey Logano started ninth in the #20 Home Depot Toyota and would fight handling problems throughout the early part of the race. The Home Depot pit crew continuously worked on the car all night, having Logano in the top five for a time before finishing a respectable 13th.

Kyle Busch started 23rd in the #18 Doublemint Gum Toyota, working his way slowing up through the pack to the top 10 by half-way. He got caught up in a three-wide situation in the final 100 which sent him into the wall; during the ensuing caution, the Doublemint crew made repairs and kept Busch on the lead lap, ensuring a 14th-place finish for the Rowdy one.

The race was won by Brad Keselowski, followed by Martin Truex Jr., Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Jamie McMurray.

Busch sits in a tie with Johnson atop the Sprint Cup points standings, both 32 points ahead of Matt Kenseth. Hamlin sits in 13th, still hanging onto the second Wild Card spot in the Chase, while Logano moved up one spot to 18th in the standings.

Question about shipping rods to vacation destination

I'm going to Marathon Key FLorida 4/7 - 4/13 and I want to ship 3 rods to my hotel. Has anyone ever used UPS or FEDEX to ship their gear ahead of time to the hotel? Do I send it to the hotel addressed to me , c/o the hotel? I would of course let them know it was coming. Airline wants 45 bucks to ship ea. way as "baggage", I trust FEDEX and UPS more than some baggage handler at Newark or Miami airports. Call the hotel you're shipping it to and ask them how to ship it to them. I've never had a problem shipping to any hotel/motel/park in the keys. They might have their own procedures. Dave only thing to add to what has been suggested is to get a return Mable printed and paid for when you ship. I typically stick it inside the tube so I don't forget it. I have failed to do this a couple of times and had two problems the hotel and ups either killed me on shipping or I had to run around making arraingements to get the return shiipimg done. Take care of itall at once and you are good to go. Option #1... Call FEDEX...ask how big they can ship...once you know, go to home depot and get a wide pvc tube to hold the rods in...look for the one that you can buy pvc caps for...make sure the tub and the caps fit within FEDEX's guidelines...get Gorilla duct tape...insert rods in tube...push caps on....they should fit snug...tape with Gorilla tape...take to FEDEX far enough ahead of your travel...ship to location...call the location to look out for the delivery.
