“For a while we had it slated as a ‘no fire entry’ due to fire fighter safety,” said Jaeger. “After we made our walkthrough and noted they’ve made some changes and fixed a lot of things, we’ve gone ahead and made it an entry (building). In case we do have a fire, we will go on an offensive attack in it.” “The building is actually in much better shape than what we thought. Structurally we’re in fine condition,” he said. “There are several holes in the roof, but they’re all like silver-dollar size. Of course that’s enough to let the rain in. There’s a lot of damage inside as far as the drywall. It doesn’t look real good inside, but it’s mostly just cleanup. The building does need to be tuck pointed.” “When you go in on the second floor it’s a big, open cathedral space. I’d say it’s anywhere from two to three stories of open space on the inside. It’s a very large, expansive area, with a big arched ceiling. And when you go up above that ceiling, there are large mortise and tenon beams that are on the top side that you don’t get to see.
