The Reset San Francisco community - an offline and online community of San Franciscans uniting for "User Generated Government" - is hosting a town hall Tuesday night to focus on repairing San Francisco's broken Municipal Railway.
Led by Reset founder and mayoral candidate Phil Ting, the town hall is bringing together transit experts and over 250 transit riders to discuss how to get San Francisco's troubled transit system back on track. The San Francisco Municipal Railway is the slowest major transit system in America. And Muni is also one of the costliest to operate - spending up to twice as much per passenger mile for bus service as the national average.
"From the 38 Geary to the N Judah to the 1 California line, the system is slow and it is unreliable. The single most important thing we can do to improve our economy and improve our quality of life is to make our transit system work," Ting said.
