Take six cousins, all women who love spending time with them and decided to take a vacation together, away from it all and what do you have? Mad Cousins ​​Camp in Florida!

Marj (Anderson) Schmitt, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Peg Roos, Victoria, Minn., Mary Lea Hemmen, Dundee, Minnesota, Cindy Canter, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Pat Swenson, Chandler, Minnesota and Linda Langren, Fulda, Minnesota, were the six cousins ​​who traveled all the 20 in Venice, Florida in July for a vacation of seven days. Each of the cousins ​​grew up in the region of Fulda.

They are the daughters of Louise Handy Tofteland, Dora Handy Biegler, Ethel Handy Pollack (deceased) and Winnie Handy Anderson (deceased).

�There are actually eight of us female cousins, but my sister Diane (Pollack) Danielson is deceased and Deb (Pollack) was unable to go,� Mary Lea Hemmen said. �Peg called and asked to get the eight of us together - just for the fun of it. She offered her winter home in Venice, Florida, for us to spend several days doing not much of anything except spending time together! Of course, we said yes!�

The cousins donned purple T-shirts with Crazy Cousins Camp in Florida on them when they traveled. �It was Linda�s first plane ride. She thought it was just wonderful,� Hemmen commented.

The cousins had help from Hemmen�s daughter, Tammy Boerst of the Travel Port in Windom, MN, in planning their flights and vehicle rentals. They left from the Minnepolis Airport and flew into Tampa, Florida, which is about 80 miles north of Venice, Florida.

�We had no solid plans for each day. We slept until we wanted to get up. The first one up each morning had to turn on the coffee pot. We took turns cookings or we went out. We swam in Peg�s indoor pool in the mornings and then did whatever we wanted to do,� Hemmen stated. �We went sight seeing and we went shopping. We played a lot of cards before bedtime.

Venice, Florida is the Shark Tooth Capital of the World. I will be getting my Scuba Diving license thing soon, so I can Scuba Dive, but Florida does have a lot of Sharks and leads the US in shark attacks, so I dont want to go somewhere that has lots of shark activity.
