WFU's Walker could be eligible after fall
The on-again, off-again basketball career of Ty Walker of Wake Forest is back on — at least on a restricted basis.
Walker, who was suspended indefinitely on July 11 for what was described as a violation of unspecified departmental rules, has been found responsible for violating the Wake Forest University student code of conduct. One sanction is that he will be prohibited from participating in games for the fall semester. Walker will be permitted to practice, and will be eligible to play at the end of the fall semester. Barring further measures taken by coach Jeff Bzdelik , Walker will be available for the Deacons' game against Seton Hall on Dec. 10.
Neither Bzdelik for Walker identified the nature of Walker's violation.
"We are obviously disappointed in the poor decision that Ty has made, but we are thankful that he will be able to complete his senior year, graduate from Wake Forest in the spring and also contribute to our basketball team this season,'' Bzdelik said in a statement released by the Wake Forest media-relations department.
Walker, a 7-0 center from Wilmington, struggled last season in his first extended action. He played in all 32 games, averaging 3.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.

Ohio State says 3 more players in trouble
Three more football players are in hot water at Ohio State. The school reported late Thursday afternoon that running back Jordan Hall , defensive back Corey Brown and defensive back Travis Howard each received impermissible benefits of $300 or less earlier this year — after several players were suspended for accepting cash and free tattoos from the subject of a federal drug-trafficking investigation.
The latest admission could affect Ohio State's previous case before the NCAA, which was heard on Aug. 12.

In three seasons, redshirt senior Kyle Wilber has put his name on several Wake Forest defensive records lists. Wilber has 10 career sacks which is just one sack shy of moving into the top 10 on the school's career sacks list.

One of those players, Wilmington's Ty Walker, won't be available until the end of the first semester because of a violation of Wake's student code of conduct. “I would like to offer my sincere apology to Wake Forest Universityand its fans, the coaching
